A few steps. So many memories.
How the QR code photo album works
in three steps.
Easy for hosts. Even easier for guests.
- 01
You create and print
Pick the event type, connect your Google Drive and download the design with the QR code.
- 02
Guests scan
The phone camera opens the page. No app to install, no account to create.
- 03
Photos land in your Drive
Each upload goes straight to the event folder, in original quality.
The problem every host knows: the photos stay on the guests’ phones
At the party, forty people take pictures. On Monday you have three photos in the family group chat, five in a story that already expired, and a promise of "I’ll send them later." Half never arrive. The other half arrive compressed by a messaging app, thumbnail-sized, out of order and stripped of their date.
QR code photo sharing solves this while the moment is still fresh: when the guest is holding the phone with the photo they just took open on the screen. It is the only moment when sharing is effortless — and that is exactly where the QR code shows up.
How QR code photo sharing works for your guests
A guest points the phone camera at the QR code. A page opens with the event name, the date and one big button: "Upload photos and videos." They tap it, pick files from their gallery or take a photo on the spot, type a nickname if they want to join the leaderboard, and that is it. The upload shows real progress, file by file.
There is no sign-up screen, no email request and no prompt to download an app. That is not a convenience detail: every extra step costs you participants, and a guest who gives up halfway is a photo that never existed.
Your files belong to you, in your own Google Drive
When you connect your account, we create a folder for the event inside your Google Drive. That is where the files arrive — in original quality, in your storage, under your control. You open the folder from the dashboard and use it like any other folder you own.
The permission we ask Google for is the narrowest one available: Fotografou can only see the folder it created. We do not and cannot see the rest of your Drive. If you disconnect your account, the files stay exactly where they are — they were never ours.
When a QR code album makes sense, and when it does not
It makes sense whenever lots of people are taking pictures and someone wants them all in one place: weddings, birthdays, graduations, baby showers, office parties. The more guests with phones, the bigger the difference between having the album and not having it.
It is overkill for a dinner with five friends, where a group chat does the job. And it does not replace a professional photographer: the value of a shared album is the angle the professional never gets — the table laughing, the behind-the-scenes, the dance floor at two in the morning.
